Woke Up to rain late, went back to sleep, woke up again to more rain, would have been nice to have the tarp we thought we didn't need. Jeremy crawled under a tree, where he had pissed just hours before, then I slithered under the tight picnic table, fell back asleep, we woke up around 11:00 am. With a small break in the clouds, The SUNNNN dried our lives back to normal, once we started riding it started raining again. We stopped in Rainbow for coffee and breakfast, waited for a break in the rain and continued on to Eugene, head wind still constant in our face,15-20 mph with scattered rain squalls. On the out skirts of Eugene, Springfield i guess, we met a crazy man named Mike who told us he would show us the bike path that takes you into downtown Eugene, as he did he also told us his whole life story, and managed to run every red light, take us down a one way the wrong way, and had told us that he hit a little 6 year old girl on the trail the previous day with his handle bar, which wasn't surprising at all. He went on to tell us " I just saw a girl with her dog, and started balling my eyes out before i ran into you guys." then told us that he had just lost his 18 year old daughter somehow. He worked for the Oregon Police Department as an undercover rat, busting drug dealers, whom he used to do business with for his own personal use. He tore off, and we ate pizza and beer. We hit up a coffee shop that locals said was "the best" Cafe Roma, it wasn't too bad. Hooked up with A friend Noah, who let us crash at his house, we walked down the street to a bar called Sam Bonds and enjoyed some tasty roadsoadas and listened to some live blue grass finger pickin. SLEEEEEP Day tooooo ... 60 miles.
